Canadian Premed (“Canadian Premed,” “we,” “us” or “our”) is committed to taking your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, disclose, and protect applicants’ (“the applicant,” “you” or your”) personal information when you apply for financial aid through our program. By submitting your application for financial aid, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
Collection of Personal Information:
We collect personal information from the applicant is used solely for the purpose of determining eligibility and administering our financial aid program. The information collected may include, but is not limited to:
Full name
Contact information (email, phone number, address)
Tax returns and supporting documents
Assets and liabilities
Student loan records
Any additional information provided voluntarily by the applicant
Use & Disclosure of Personal Information:
The personal information collected from the applicant is used strictly for the purpose of assessing eligibility for our financial aid program. It will not be used for any other purposes without obtaining the applicant’s explicit consent.
We do not sell, trade, rent, or disclose your personal information to any third parties for any reason whatsoever, except in the following circumstances:
To trusted third-party service providers who assist us in evaluating applications and managing the financial aid program, under strict confidentiality agreements.
To comply with any applicable laws, regulations, or legal processes that require the disclosure of personal information.
Data Security, Retention and Deletion:
Data Security: We take measures to protect the security of your personal information. However, please note that no data transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. Therefore, while we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. We recommend always using a secure, home internet connection when sending sensitive information via the internet. We recommend avoiding the use of public wifi (i.e. coffee shops, libraries, educational institutions) when sending sensitive information via the internet. By sending us documents electronically, the applicant assumes all potential risks of data breech and/or interception.
Data Retention and Deletion: Upon determination of your eligibility for financial aid and the completion of the financial aid program's administration, we will retain your personal information for a limited period as required by applicable laws and regulations. After this period, all personal information collected during the application process will be securely destroyed and/or deleted.
Consent: By submitting your application for financial aid, you are consenting to the collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information as described in this Privacy Policy.
Changes to the Privacy Policy: We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. Any changes to this Privacy Policy will be posted on our website, and the revised version will take effect immediately upon posting.
