FAQs

How much are consultants paid?

At Canadian Premed, we work on a split-fee-for-service model. That means you keep the bulk of the profit, and we take a small administrative fee to maintain our operations. Although this model differs from hourly wages, you can expect to earn between $40.00 to $75.00 per hour on average, depending on experience, efficiency and the time you choose to spend with clients.

Can I put this position on my CV/Resume?

Absolutely! In medical school and residency, any form of teaching, research or mentorship looks great on a CV. Not only will you be helping out fellow students and boosting your CaRMS/fellowship applications, but you will get to earn a bit of money as well.

Interested in helping underprivileged/low SES students? Ask us about our Commitment to Equity (CEQ) program and be recognized for your contributions.

How does the Commitment to Equity (CEQ) program work?

Applicants who meet certain criteria are eligible to apply for financial aid. As a consultant, simply indicate your interest in the program and we will pair you with a CEQ student. This program is entirely optional/voluntary as a consultant. Although we encourage every consultant to work with at least 1 CEQ student, there is no obligation to do so.
